Hundreds of thousands of protesters demanding the removal of President Mohamed Morsi took to the streets on 30 June, the anniversary of his coming to power.

Demonstrators from differentgovernorates filled the streets chanting “leave”, “down with the Brotherhood’s rule” and “the people demand the downfall of the regime” .

Marches started from different meeting points at 5pm and headed to Tahrir square and the presidential palace in Cairo.

In Alexandria, Sidi Gaber and Al-Qaed Ibrahim will filled to the brim with protesters.

These demonstrations come afterTamarod (Rebellion) campaign kicked off over two months ago, collecting signature from people to oust Morsi. Tamarod as well as several political groups and parties such as Al-Dostor and Al-Tiar Al-Shaabi (The Popular Current) have asked people to take to the streets to peacefully ask for the removal of Morsi and the current government.
