Clashes ensued today in Tahrir square as well as adjacent streets between supporters of President Mohamed Morsy and protesters criticizng his 100-day plan.

Protesters took to the streets today, Friday, after calls all week by civil and leftist parties and coalitions for demonstrations demanding a new constituent assembly to write the post 25 January constitution as well as accountability of the 100-day plan promised by Morsy on his presidnetial campiagns,.

Clashes started after pro-Morsy protesters tore down the main stage in Tahrir square set by the Popular Coalition for airing chants  agianst Morsy and  the Muslim Brotherhood.

Protesters exchanges rocks, leading to several injuries. Later in the evening Molotov cocktails as well as mortar bombs were used, leading to the hospitalization of 49 people.
