A high-ranking source at the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) revealed that Minister Hesham Zaazou has carried out a number of administrative changes at four authorities under the MOT, namely the Tourism Activation Authority (TAA), the Tourism Development, the Hotel and Tourism Villages Sector and the Tourism Fund.

The source revealed that the Minister applied those changes in order to take advantage of new expertise in the Ministry, and that they’ll be officially announced during the month. Heba Lotfy will be appointed as Director for Planning and Research Sector instead of Louis Shehata, leaving the direction of the Minister’s Office to Mahfouz Ali, the current Tourism Fund Director.

Several indications say that Zaazou will convince the cabinet to transfer Mohamed Badr, Assistant Minister to the Tourism Development Authority (TDA). However, the position Badr will occupy has not been decided yet. Badr is expected to acquire leadership of a secondary authority of the TDA.

“The coming days will witness several changes within the authority synchronisation with other changes in the offshore offices of Moscow, France and Great Britain,” the Ministry of Tourism source said regarding TAA.

Samy Mahmoud will be appointed as Director of the International Tourism Sector at the TDA and Magdy Selim, the current Director of Internal Tourism Sector, will hold the position of Director of the Authority instead of Amr Elezaby, the current director.”

The source added that Zaazou plans to dismiss Osama El-Ashry, Director of the Hotel and Tourism Villages Sector for his lack of experience in the field compared to his great experience in the sector of tourism agencies.
