CAIRO: Military Production maintained their perfect start to the season after beating MCDR 2-1 Sunday to secure provisional top spot in the Egyptian Premier League.
Hassan Mousa put the army side upfront after 22 minutes before Mohamed Shedid doubled their lead four minutes from the hour mark.
Hossam Ossama pulled one back for MCDR four minutes later, but the hosts kept their slender lead till the final whistle to register their third successive win.
Production are now on top of the league table with nine points.
Ismaili will also extend their winning streak to three matches should they beat Gouna on Monday.
Elsewhere, Police Union scored their maiden league win this season upon sinking a stubborn Wadi Degla side 3-2.
Police were far superior as Mohamed Kawarshi, Mohamed Al-Fayoumi and Reda Al-Azab scored three goals without reply on 13, 33 and 62 minutes respectively.
But Degla’s Mohamed Al-Hasri fired a curling free kick that hit the top corner of the net to reduce the arrears three minutes past the hour mark.
Abdul-Fattah Al-Agha converted a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
