10 new swine flu deaths bring Egypt's tally to 159

CAIRO: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced late Monday the death of 10 cases of swine flu in Egypt, raising the total death toll to 159.

The most recent deaths, according to the Health Ministry, were of a 29-year-old women from Qaliubeya, an 11-year-old-boy from Assiut, a three-year-old child from Menufiya, a 35-year-old-woman from Kafr El-Sheikh, a 37-year-old-man from Assiut, a 55-year-old-man from Aswan, a 33-year-old-man from Qaliubeya, a 59-year-old-man from Giza, a 57-year-old-man from Cairo, and a nine-month-old infant from Qaliubeya.

On the same day, Port Said, Red Sea, and Gharbia governorates announced the closure of four classes for 15 days, following the confirmation of four new cases diagnosed with the A(H1N1) virus.

An optional H1N1 vaccination campaign began at schools and universities in Cairo and Alexandria on Sunday, and is free of charge. -Daily News Egypt
