CAIRO: Ahly and Egypt playmaker Mohamed Aboutrika is now the target of several Premier League clubs, according to skysports.com.

Agent Jesse Learoyd-Hill unveiled that two Premiership outfits are interested in acquiring the player.

“I can confirm two clubs in England are checking Aboutrika’s availability, Learoyd-Hill told skysports.com.

“I am in negotiations with a couple of clubs but there has been no agreement with any parties.

Learoyd-Hill assured that big spenders Manchester City are not among Aboutrika’s suitors, contrary to media reports.

The 30-year-old, who has been short-listed for the African Player of the Year award, is considered one of the key players in the Cairo giants’ squad.

The former Tersana player was linked with an overseas move on more than one occasion in the last three years, but he stayed with the Red Devils.

“The interest in him is not surprising and those who get the chance to see him in Japan will have confirmed to them the general opinion on the ability of the player, the agent added. -Filgoal
