CAIRO: Ittihad captain Hossam Hassan rejected the club s decision to summon him for a hearing after he traveled to the UAE without the board s permission.
The 41-year-old left the team before the recent league game with Baladeya to attend an exhibition match in Dubai last week.
Consequently, the Alexandria-based club suspended Hassan and sent him an official notification, recalling him to a hearing to explain his behavior.
However, the Egypt icon refuses to comply with the orders of his club s officials as he claims that he notified manager Mohamed Salah before leaving.
I refuse to be under investigation, it is disrespectful to my history, Hassan told FilGoal.com on Tuesday.
I repeat that I took the approval of the coach before my departure.
Ittihad coach Salah admitted that Hassan informed him before he went away, but he denied that the veteran striker was given approval to leave.
