CAIRO: After completing an inspection of 50 of the continent’s 53 nations, FIFA announced that only 18 countries have safe stadiums to host World Cup qualifiers.
The world soccer governing body inspection delegation did not visit Kenya, Somalia and World Cup hosts South Africa.
These inspections come after FIFA expressed their worries about the safety standards in Africa and their wish to have better conditions, especially in the World Cup qualifiers.
The FIFA program for development of football in Africa, Goal, announced a long term-plan of installing at least one stadium of artificial grass in each of the African countries.
