Arab African International Bank (AAIB) has obtained the latest version of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS v4.0.1) certification, a move aimed at protecting customer payment data and strengthening the security of card transactions, the bank announced.
Securing the PCI DSS v4.0.1 certification required the implementation of a comprehensive set of security controls and practices, the bank said in a statement. These measures include the protection of customers’ payment data, the strengthening of security across relevant stages of digital payment processes, and the enhancement of security controls related to payment services.
The certification process also involved applying security governance practices and continuous monitoring, aligning the bank’s operations with international security requirements and standards, according to AAIB.
The bank stated that obtaining the certification reflects its ongoing commitments to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities and security controls, supporting safe and trusted card payment experiences for its customers. The move additionally reinforces AAIB’s focus on advancing information security practices to keep pace with evolving risks, the lender said.
