Military Production Ministry signs two MoUs to boost joint manufacturing, expand into Africa

Salah Gomblat, Minister of State for Military Production, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Organisation for Military Production (NOMP) and Arab Contractors, as well as another MoU between NOMP, Arab Contractors, and Masar for Consulting and Business Development, in the presence of senior officials and executives from the three entities.

The agreements are part of the Ministry of Military Production’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with national companies, enhance integration among available industrial and engineering capabilities, deepen local manufacturing, and open new markets for Egyptian products, particularly in Africa.

Gomblat said that the signing of the MoUs reflects the ministry’s commitment to strengthening integration between state institutions and national companies, while making optimal use of available industrial and engineering capabilities to deepen local manufacturing and increase the added value of Egyptian products.

He added that Military Production is expanding its partnerships with both the public and private sectors, in line with the state’s efforts to support national industry, enhance competitiveness, and open new markets for Egyptian products.

For his part, Ahmed El-Assar, Chairperson of Arab Contractors, expressed the company’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Military Production and maximise the use of the capabilities and expertise available to both sides.

The Chairperson and Founder of Masar for Consulting and Business Development said that the partnership among the three entities represents an important step towards strengthening local manufacturing and generating added value for the national economy.

 

The first MoU aims to establish cooperation between Helwan Diesel Engines Company, Military Factory 909, and Arab Contractors to carry out projects and jointly manufacture products in the fields and activities of the participating companies.

 

The areas of cooperation include leveraging the capabilities and products offered by Helwan Diesel Engines Company, including power generators, low-voltage electrical distribution panels, security barrier gates, tower lighting units, control panels, agricultural trailers, air compressors, electric welding machines, equipment spare parts, metal furniture, waste incinerators, mooring equipment, high-pressure water pumps, and engine overhauls. The MoU also covers cooperation in the fields related to Arab Contractors’ activities and products.

 

The second MoU seeks to expand industrial and marketing cooperation between NOMP and African countries and open new avenues for exporting Egyptian products to African markets. It also covers technology transfer, service provision, and the exchange of industrial expertise to support sustainable and mutually beneficial economic development and strengthen the presence of Egyptian products in Africa.

 

The MoU further aims to enhance cooperation in joint manufacturing, the exchange of technical knowledge, and human-capacity building, contributing to Egypt’s economic objectives and supporting the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
