Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), met with Khalid Jassim Mohammed Bin Kalban, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Dubai Investments, in the presence of Manal Abdel Tawab, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service office in the UAE, to discuss the company’s investment expansion opportunities in the Egyptian market.
During the meeting, Awad stressed the importance of leveraging Dubai Investments’ extensive experience in developing projects, cities, and investment and industrial zones. He affirmed GAFI’s keenness to provide investors with all necessary forms of support and facilitation, while coordinating with relevant government authorities to advance proposed investment opportunities towards more advanced stages of implementation.
He added that the meeting addressed a number of projects and opportunities that the company had previously explored in Egypt, as well as mechanisms for completing the necessary studies and procedures. The discussions also covered the possibility of the company conducting field visits to a number of proposed investment sites to assess available opportunities and explore the potential development of future projects.
Following the meeting, Bin Kalban conducted a field visit to Dubai Investments Park to review its components and the project development model adopted by Dubai Investments, as well as explore how the model could be applied in the Egyptian market.
The Vice Chairperson and CEO of Dubai Investments expressed the company’s interest in strengthening its presence in the Egyptian market and capitalising on available investment opportunities. He stressed the importance of continued coordination with GAFI and relevant government authorities to study the proposed projects and determine implementation mechanisms.
The two parties agreed to continue coordination during the coming period and study a number of available investment opportunities.
