The Egyptian foreign ministry and the Journalists Syndicate agreed on Monday to organise regular educational events and joint training programmes to brief the press on the country’s foreign policy and regional stances.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reached the agreement during a meeting with the Head of the Journalists Syndicate, Khaled El-Balshy. The talks, aimed at discussing joint cooperation and enhancing communication with the national press, were also attended by Mohamed El-Shazly, head of the syndicate’s Arab and Foreign Affairs Committee.

The two sides agreed to hold regular sessions to outline the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy regarding regional and international issues, alongside implementing joint programmes focused on training and capacity building.

During the talks, Abdelatty highlighted the syndicate’s role in defending national interests, shedding light on state achievements across various fields, and conveying an objective view of the risks and challenges facing the country. This effort, he noted, contributes to raising public awareness and supporting efforts to maintain national interests and regional stability.

El-Balshy commended the existing cooperation and the ministry’s keenness to communicate with the syndicate, expressing a desire to expand joint cooperation in the coming period.

At the conclusion of the meeting, El-Balshy presented the syndicate’s shield to Abdelatty in recognition of the foreign ministry’s role in advancing Egyptian interests, providing consular services, and fostering trust and communication with civil society institutions and professional syndicates.
