Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, in New Alamein on Sunday for talks on developments in Gaza and broader regional crises, the Egyptian presidency said.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and General Intelligence Service chief Hassan Rashad.
Presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said Kushner conveyed greetings from Trump to Al-Sisi. The Egyptian president asked Kushner to convey his greetings to Trump, stressing the strategic nature of relations between Egypt and the United States and the importance of continued coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The talks addressed developments across the Middle East, with Al-Sisi stressing the need to continue efforts to address shared challenges and resolve the region’s crises in order to safeguard regional stability.
The two sides also discussed the Palestinian issue and stressed the need for all parties to fulfil their commitments under the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip, reached at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025.
Kushner praised the close coordination between Egypt and the United States and expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts, as well as Al-Sisi’s personal role, in addressing regional issues and promoting peace and stability.
He also described Egypt as a key US partner in the Middle East.
