Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk has announced that the government will launch a dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad next year, offering a range of investment instruments tailored specifically to the needs of the Egyptian diaspora.
Speaking during a panel discussion titled State Policy for Supporting Egyptians Abroad at the seventh annual Conference for Egyptians Abroad, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Kouchouk said the government aims to simplify the subscription process, provide attractive returns and offer additional incentives for Egyptians overseas.
He said the Ministry of Finance is working with leading investment banks in Egypt and abroad to accelerate the procedures required to launch the fund, which is intended to create new investment opportunities and deliver greater benefits for Egyptians living overseas.
Kouchouk also revealed that the ministries of Finance, Industry, and Investment and Foreign Trade are jointly developing an integrated digital platform that will enable investors to establish companies quickly with minimal administrative procedures. The platform is expected to encourage Egyptians abroad to invest in their home country by making it easier to benefit from government investment incentives, tax and customs facilitation measures, and opportunities across priority economic sectors.
The minister added that the government is expanding efforts to provide streamlined, fully digital public services for citizens both inside and outside Egypt. He noted that artificial intelligence is being integrated into government services to simplify procedures further and make them accessible in multiple languages.
Kouchouk also announced the launch of a new mobile application for real estate tax services, enabling users to complete the entire process digitally, from registration and tax return submission to exemption requests and payment in any currency. He said the application is designed to particularly benefit Egyptians living abroad.
He added that a separate mobile application for real estate transactions is scheduled to be launched later this month as part of the government’s broader tax facilitation programme and will also support Egyptians residing overseas.
The minister further noted that three specialised tax service centres have been established to strengthen a customer-focused service model, with the first already inaugurated in New Cairo. He said the government plans to introduce virtual consultations for Egyptians abroad through these centres next year, enabling them to receive guidance and clarification on all tax-related matters remotely.
