An Egyptian delegation of leading construction companies has concluded a high-level visit to Washington, D.C., aimed at strengthening U.S.–Egypt cooperation across Africa’s rapidly growing infrastructure sector.

The mission was led by M&P, a regional public policy and strategic communications firm, in partnership with KRL International and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation was headed by Samcrete, one of Egypt’s top construction and engineering companies, reflecting the private sector’s growing role in advancing regional development initiatives.

The visit focused on positioning Egyptian firms within the expanding U.S.-backed investment ecosystem supporting infrastructure, energy, and critical minerals projects across Africa. Participating companies engaged with senior U.S. policymakers, development finance institutions, and private sector stakeholders involved in major projects across the continent.

Meetings were held with key U.S. entities including the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), alongside financial institutions and project sponsors supporting large-scale infrastructure and regional integration initiatives.

Sherif El Bidewy, CEO of M&P, said the mission aims to position Egyptian companies at the forefront of Africa’s infrastructure transformation, highlighting their proven capabilities in delivering complex, large-scale projects.

The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to deepen economic ties between Egypt and the United States, while enabling Egyptian firms to access new financing mechanisms and partnership opportunities across African markets.

The delegation explored opportunities linked to flagship initiatives such as the Lobito Corridor, a major regional infrastructure project designed to enhance connectivity and trade across Africa.

The visit underscores Egypt’s growing role as a strategic partner in Africa’s development, with its construction sector increasingly contributing to high-impact projects across emerging markets.
