EU, Egypt work jointly to de-escalate regional tensions: Ambassador Eichhorst

Angelina Eichhorst, Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt, said the European Union is working closely with Egypt to help preserve regional stability and support efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Her remarks came in press statements on the sidelines of the World Water Day 2026 event.

Eichhorst thanked the Egyptian government for its ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the region and to help calm rising tensions.

She noted that the European Union and Egypt are coordinating closely to ensure stability amid the current regional developments, stressing that such cooperation is of critical importance.

“Egypt speaks to all our partners. And we really thank the government for always being an anchor of peace and security in the region,” Eichhorst said.

She concluded by affirming that the European Union highly values the Egyptian government’s efforts to promote de-escalation and safeguard regional stability.
