An Egyptian committee has rescued a Palestinian boy named Jadoua and his younger brother, after a scene of him carrying his sibling on his shoulder while fleeing bombing in the northern Gaza Strip gained widespread attention.
The Egyptian Committee for Supporting Brothers in the Gaza Strip said that, under a directive from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, it had launched an urgent intervention to find the children.

The committee confirmed that the two children had been transferred to a tent in a camp run by the Egyptian committee, where they and their family are receiving “full care and the necessary support.” It added that “the children are now safe after search efforts that lasted for a long time until they were reached.”
The children’s mother said her son Jadoua “did not hesitate to carry his brother and walk with him for long distances amidst the bombing and the lack of transportation until he reached the south.” She noted that the scene “embodies the suffering of civilians in Gaza.”
