On 80th anniversary, Dorra maintains leadership in Egypt’s real estate market, expands abroad

Dorra Group started its business in the Egyptian real estate market in 1943 as a contracting company that constructed large national projects. The company initiated its business in real estate development in 1994, said Marketing Director of Dorra Developments Karim Sultan. 

Sultan added that the company began executing its own real estate projects such as Zayed 2000, Zayed Residence, and Zayed Heights in Sheikh Zayed city, west Cairo. 

He stated, “CRC Dorra was the first to obtain a license for development in Sheikh Zayed, as well as License No. 1 in Al-Shorouk City, besides it was the first company to introduce the idea of a gated community. Almost half of Sheikh Zayed City was developed by Dorra as a real estate developer, in addition to the fact that Dorra Construction Group is still constructing national projects and others for real estate developers.” 

In 2004, CRC Dorra developed its projects very significantly and the company began to develop the idea of ​​urban development in Egypt by creating a different life for residents, full of luxury and tranquility, he noted. 

Sultan further said, “The goal of developing communities is not only to build units for them to live in, but also to build communities that meet the needs of residents in terms of the integration of services and utilities designed according to the latest standards and high quality, as well as finishes on a great level of quality.” 

Dorra Group has blossomed into a market leader in many key areas, and has claimed dominance in real estate development and investment, both residential and commercial, diversified industrial activities, tourism, concrete and brick production, as well as being an active advocate for policy change to improve the public, according to Sultan. 

The activities in the Real Estate Development arena stems from a deep knowledge and understanding of the market needs, accordingly, Dorra Developments’ projects stretch over the most in demand new cities namely Sheikh Zayed. The company served as the first developer in this promising city with a wide demand in West Cairo through a number of footprints in the heart of Sheikh Zayed including Village West Villa, Village West, Address West and Greens. Believing in diversifying its projects portfolio, Dorra has headed to east Cairo by transferring its experience and successes in its projects in Sheikh Zayed through the development of a residential and commercial gated community, Address East. 

In addition, there are coastal tourism projects, such as Diar El Rabwa in Sharm El-Sheikh and the Golden Beach in North Coast, and commercial and administrative projects namely, Atrium, which is a boutique retail hub within Greens Residential compound. 

The second commercial project is, Capital Business Park, developed over 35,000 sqm in west Cairo. The Courtyard is the third commercial project and is a business hub located in the heart of Sheikh Zayed city that redefines the concept of administrative and commercial venues in Egypt. 

Sultan revealed that Dorra intends to launch other commercial projects in the coming period, and added that the company intends to be present in Ain Sokhna and the North Coast through debuting integrated coastal tourism projects. 

With over 80 years of expertise, Dorra is a household name and a well-known company in the real estate industry of Egypt and the MENA region. Dorra Group’s professional portfolio includes the contracting, developing and designing of diverse landmark projects across the MENA region, with an active presence in Egypt, KSA, UAE, and Qatar, Soliman disclosed. 

He elaborated that the company has established contracting and development companies affiliated to Dorra Group in each country to construct and develop different projects in these countries.

On the celebration of 80 years of its presence in the Egyptian real estate market, the company emphasizes its expansion and has a great imprint in Egypt and the development of the real estate industry in Egypt.

Sultan stated, “During the coming period, the company aims to focus on marketing its products outside Egypt and targeting a larger number of customers from the Gulf countries and Arab markets.” 

Sultan highlighted some problems that may face the real estate market in Egypt, namely the decrease in customers’ purchasing power. Accordingly, CRC Dorra diversified its real estate products to be suitable for customers needs, and provided different and easy payment plans to motivate them to buy. 

Karim Sultan, the Marketing Director at Dorra, received an award from Daily News Egypt on behalf of Hassan Dorra as the “Developer of The Year” for his pioneering role in leading the largest company in the contracting sector in Egypt for 80 years. 

From the moment Egypt renounced its monarchy and chose their first elected presidency, DORRA Group was there to support the country’s evolution and their newly appointed Presidential Mandate towards Egypt’s construction and real estate development vision.

The inaugural Daily News Egypt annual summit and DNE Awards were held on 15 March at St. Regis Cairo Hotel.

The summit and awards were held under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB).

The summit, titled “Leadership in Times of Crisis”, addressed the economic reform process in Egypt, and it shed light on the deals, ideas, and visions that have made a difference in all fields. Additionally, DNE Awards honoured the most influential people and firms in Egypt during 2022/23.
