Communications Minister witnesses launch of Egypt Post’s first super app in Egypt

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat witnessed the launch ceremony of Egypt Post’s ‘Yalla’ application, which is the first super app in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa that provides various financial and non-financial solutions for individuals, merchants, and companies and payment solutions (PSP) in cooperation with Visa International and PaySky.

The minister said that the launch of the application comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy to build a digital Egypt, where Egypt Post plays a pivotal role in implementing the programmes and initiatives of this ambitious strategy.

He also explained the comprehensive development that Egypt Post is witnessing in terms of form and content through the expansion of the postal network and the development of its offices as well as the automation of the work and services it provides.

This is while working in parallel to expand the provision of new types of services besides postal services to include government and financial services, foremost of which is the Yalla application, which will provide wider access and contribute to enhancing financial inclusion for a larger number of citizens, especially young people, by enabling citizens to easily access a range of diverse financial services such as payment and receiving remittances.

Chairperson of the National Post Authority Sherif Farouk said that the launch of application in cooperation with Paysky and Visa comes as a continuation of the efforts of Egypt Post towards developing its services and introducing new ones targeting different segments of customers.

He added that this is a new addition to the successes achieved by the company during the last period at the regional and international levels and represents a clear embodiment of the implementation of the state’s plan to foster digital transformation and financial inclusion and the development of new and advanced digital channels to provide financial and non-financial services to citizens in a decent and easy manner.

Egypt Post seeks to provide innovative financial and non-financial solutions to individuals, merchants, and companies using the best advanced systems and solutions; where the application provides many advantages and financial services, such as payment, transfers, and online purchase services, in addition to the ability to save, invest, monitor, and track daily expenses through a digital platform characterised by ease of use while providing the utmost digital security.

Yalla has many financial and non-financial solutions, including Yalla Money, through which money can be transferred and received for individuals and merchants. Yalla Bills for paying bills and charging the balance of all kinds; and Yalla Pharmacy to read the prescription, order drugs and have them delivered to the user’s place.

There is also Yalla Offers to provide offers and discounts on various brands, restaurants and other contracted ones; Yalla Mall to provide the ability to purchase products of all kinds; and Yalla Insurance to provide various types of insurance.

Moreover, there is Yalla Transportation to book transportation tickets and travel between governorates; in addition to ENPO Digital to provide Egypt Post services represented in locating ATMs, postal branches, new ENPO Win points, government services, education services, and housing.

It is noteworthy that Egypt Post had won the Innovation Award for the Yalla Super App from the Euro-Mediterranean Postal Union, which includes 15 European countries and nine Arab countries.
