Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to Baghdad on Sunday to attend the tripartite meeting with his Jordanian, and Iraqi counterparts, according to ministry’s spokesperson Ahmed Hafez.

The meeting will discuss ways to boost trilateral cooperation between the parties across different fields, and exchange views concerning the developments of Arab, regional and international issues of common interest, Hafez said in a statement.

The Iraqi embassy in Jordan said in a statement that the meeting will focus on counter-terrorism, investment and supporting the reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

The ministers are also set to follow-up the implementation of the outcomes of the previous tripartite summit held in Cairo last March.

The March summit stressed the importance of advancing economic, trade and investment cooperation between the three countries.

Furthermore, the March summit tackled ways of boosting economic integration between the three countries, through improving industrial cooperation, building joint industrial zones, and energy collaboration.
