A small explosive device thrown from a motorcycle exploded Saturday morning near the Police Headquarters in Ain Shams, a bustling Cairo suburb. The explosion occurred around 7am and caused limited damage. (Photo by Ahmed Al-Malki)

A bomb went off next to a police institute in the Ain Shams district in Cairo at 7am Saturday, damaging the institute’s walls but left no injuries.

The blast came the morning after a series of bombings targeted police across Cairo on Friday 24 January, leaving six dead.
