CAIRO: Ahly football director Hadi Khashaba called on new signing Mohamed “Geddo” Nagi not to be distracted by his suspended ban.

The latest episode of the infamous transfer saga saw Zamalek take legal actions against the new Ahly recuit, claiming he had signed a contract with them before leaving Ittihad this summer.

Consequently, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) imposed a short-term suspension on the Egypt forward and announced plans for an investigation.

Geddo is eligible to play for Ahly in the Egyptian Super Cup on Aug. 25 as he will be questioned long before that date.

"Ahly signed Geddo through legal avenues," Khashaba told Ahly’s official website. "Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to include him in our local and African rosters.

"We have great faith in him and in return, he needs to concentrate on his career and live up to expectations."
