The Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE) has launched Egypt’s first dedicated pavilion for home appliances at IFA Berlin 2026, with six Egyptian companies participating as part of efforts to strengthen the presence of Egyptian products in Germany and expand into wider European markets.
The Egyptian participation was organised through cooperation between the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Berlin and the EECE, with the aim of supporting Egyptian companies’ access to international markets and strengthening their presence at specialised global exhibitions.
The opening was attended by Maha Zakaria, Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Berlin; Mostafa Hassan, Commercial Attaché at the office; and Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairperson of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt, alongside representatives of the participating companies.
El-Sayyad said Egypt’s participation in IFA Berlin reflects the growing capabilities of the country’s engineering and home appliances sector and its increasing ability to compete in international markets.
“The German market is one of the key markets where we aim to expand the presence of Egyptian products in the coming period,” he said, noting that Germany could serve as an important gateway for Egyptian manufacturers seeking to access other European markets.
He added that participation in IFA provides Egyptian companies with direct access to importers, distributors and potential business partners, while enabling them to better understand European market requirements and evolving consumer trends.
According to El-Sayyad, the participating companies possess advanced manufacturing and technological capabilities, as well as export experience that enables them to compete on quality, specifications and cost. Compliance with European standards and obtaining CE marking further strengthen the prospects for Egyptian products to enter EU markets.
The Egyptian pavilion aims to showcase the capabilities and products of local manufacturers to international buyers and explore new commercial partnerships that could support exports of home appliances and engineering products.
El-Sayyad said the sector has the potential to make significant inroads into the German market and expand across Europe, supported by the diversity and competitiveness of Egyptian-made products.
Participation in IFA Berlin 2026 forms part of the EECE’s broader strategy to open new export markets, expand the customer base of Egyptian manufacturers and support Egypt’s targets for boosting exports and strengthening the global competitiveness of its industrial sector.
