The African Tourism Board (ATB) has announced the appointment of two Egyptians to its executive leadership team, with Ambassador Ramy Waheed named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Ambassador Nancy Abdelhadi named Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The appointments were ratified as part of the organization’s executive restructuring, aimed at strengthening its operational capacity and advancing its mission of promoting tourism, investment, and collaboration across the African continent.
Ambassador Ramy Waheed brings extensive experience in tourism development, international relations, and destination promotion. As Chief Executive Officer, he will provide strategic leadership for the organization and oversee its continental and international initiatives.
Ambassador Nancy Abdelhadi, a specialist in international relations, diplomacy, trade, and African engagement, will serve as Chief Operating Officer, supporting the implementation of the organization’s programs and partnerships across Africa and internationally.
The appointments reflect the growing role of Egyptian tourism and business professionals in supporting continental cooperation and tourism development initiatives throughout Africa.
The African Tourism Board serves as a platform for tourism stakeholders, destinations, private sector organizations, and government institutions working to strengthen Africa’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
The announcement also highlights Egypt’s longstanding relationship with the African Tourism Board. In 2019, former Egyptian Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou joined the organization’s Honorary Board, reflecting recognition of Egypt’s leadership and expertise within Africa’s tourism sector.
The appointment of Ambassador Ramy Waheed and Ambassador Nancy Abdelhadi further strengthens Egyptian representation within the African Tourism Board and underscores Egypt’s continued contribution to tourism development, regional cooperation, and continental engagement.
