EgyptAir has suspended all flights to 13 cities across the Middle East until further notice, following the launch of “major combat operations” by the United States and Israel against targets in Iran.

The Egyptian national carrier announced on Saturday that it has halted services to Kuwait, Dubai, Doha, Manama, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Qassim, Dammam, Erbil, Baghdad, Amman, Beirut, and Muscat. The decision comes in response to rapid regional developments and the subsequent closure of airspace in several neighbouring countries.

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States had commenced air and sea strikes against the Islamic Republic, hitting targets across the country, including the capital, Tehran. Trump characterised the mission as the most significant US military action against Iran since the 1979 revolution.

Ahmed Adel, Chairperson and Executive Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company, is currently monitoring the regional situation from the crisis room at the Integrated Operations Centre (IOCC). EgyptAir stated it is maintaining full coordination with Cairo International Airport authorities and the airline’s external stations to monitor flight operations as the situation evolves.

The airline emphasised that the suspension of these routes is a precautionary measure to ensure the highest standards of aviation safety. “The safety of passengers and operating crews is our top priority amidst the current regional variables,” the company said in a statement.

EgyptAir added that it would resume operations to the affected destinations as soon as the regional situation stabilises and air navigation returns to normal. The company has urged customers to monitor its official channels for updates and to verify their booking status before heading to Cairo International Airport to avoid potential disruptions.
