The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) announced that the volume of non-banking financial activities, including capital market operations and all forms of non-banking finance, reached EGP 954.2bn during the period from January to September 2025.
In a report issued on Wednesday, the FRA said the total includes EGP 497.5bn in share issuances, EGP 70.3bn in issuances of securities other than shares, EGP 122.2bn in leasing contracts, EGP 76.9bn in financing granted to MSMEs, EGP 66bn in consumer finance, EGP 91.4bn in factored receivables, and EGP 29.4bn in mortgage finance.
The report also revealed that movable-asset registrations in the Collateral Registry reached EGP 3.9tn by the end of September 2025. Outstanding MSME financing amounted to EGP 92bn, while total insurance premiums collected stood at EGP 87.5bn and insurance payouts reached EGP 46.8bn. Investments of private insurance funds totalled EGP 22.9bn.
According to the FRA, the EGP 87.5bn in insurance premiums collected between January and September included EGP 49.1bn from property and liability insurance and EGP 38.4bn from life insurance and fund-formation products.
Total insurance payouts reached EGP 46.8bn, comprising EGP 22.4bn in compensation paid under property and liability insurance and EGP 24.4bn in payouts for life insurance and fund-formation products.
The authority explained that property and liability insurance covers risks such as fire, theft, home and car insurance, and warehouse and goods coverage. Meanwhile, life and fund-formation insurance includes life cover, death benefits and policies against bodily injury, among other products.
