Indian Ambassador to Cairo stresses keenness to boost Egypt-India trade exchange to $7.5bn

Ajit Guptih, the Ambassador of India in Cairo praised the strong and historical relations between Egypt and India, stressing keenness to increase trade exchange to $7.5bn and encourage Indian investments in Egypt.

His remarks came on the sidelines of his visit to Aswan. 

During his visit to the Aswan Governorate, the Ambassador of India in Cairo, met with the Governor of Aswan, Ashraf Attia. 

The ambassador said that he was keen to tour several investment projects in the fields of solar energy, agriculture and industry.

The Ambassador made a visit on March 27, 2023, to see the Benban solar energy project with a capacity of 250 megawatts, developed by the Indian company Sterling & Wilson, in the Benban Solar Park near Aswan in Upper Egypt.

The total solar capacity In Benban is 1.46 GW, with great potential for expansion

He also praised the strong and historical relations between Egypt and India.
