Forbes names 11 Egyptian startups as most attractive for funding in MENA

Forbes magazine selected 11 Egyptian startups among the 50 most attractive companies for financing in the Middle East and North Africa region in 2022, and the Information and Decision Support Center published a new infographic, in which it dealt with the classification of Egyptian companies in the list.

The Egyptian startups ranked on the list were able to raise funds worth $508.5m in 2022.

The list includes 50 emerging companies in the Middle East and North Africa region that were able to raise $3.2bn in 2022 compared to about $3bn in 2021. Egypt ranked third in the Arab world after the UAE and Saudi Arabia in terms of the number of companies and financing.

The financial technology and e-commerce sectors came as the most important sectors in terms of the number of companies and financing in the list during 2022, and the financial technology sector ranked first with about 21 companies that managed to collect $1.3bn, while the e-commerce sector came in second place with 10 companies that managed to collect $576.7m.
