Nevine Gamea — CEO of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) — said that the fourth edition of the Turathuna Exhibition for Handicrafts and Heritage is scheduled to host Saudi Arabia as a guest of honour, and the UAE, Jordan, Sudan, and Libya will participate with pavilions as well.

She added that the MSMEDA is keen to host sister countries in the exhibition on a regular basis to turn it into a regional gathering that includes a large and diverse number of creative products and live performances that express the different cultures of the Arab Nation.

This would provide visitors with a unique marketing and cultural experience, especially as it is considered one of the largest exhibitions specialised in traditional and handicraft products in the region.

She stressed that these Arab countries were keen on participating in the exhibition, which is being held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, adding that it reflects the political will to strengthen cooperation and common ties between Arab peoples, as well as encouraging intra-regional trade and economic integration in particular among small business owners in these countries.

Gamea explained that the exhibition provides a unique opportunity to open new marketing windows for owners of small projects, especially in the handicrafts and heritage sector, and create openness between Arab markets.

She added that it was decided to host Saudi Arabia as a guest of honour in the exhibition, noting that the Saudi Ministry of Culture will be represented at the event by the Saudi Heritage Authority and the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts.

Additionally, four pavilions were allocated for Emirati handicrafts (Saud bin Saqr for Youth Enterprise Development), Jordan (Jordan Chamber of Industry), Sudan, and Libya through the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the National Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises.

The pavilions will include many artistic and heritage products that express the cultural and folk civilisations of these countries.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from 9 to 15 October at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre, where about 1,116 exhibitors from different governorates of the country will participate in the event.
