EFG Hermes, the leading financial services corporation in Frontier Emerging Markets (FEM), revenues grew by 20% year-over-year (Y-o-Y) to EGP 1.6bn in the second quarter of 2021 (2Q21).

Sources told Daily News Egypt that the Egypt Education Platform (EEP) has brokered definitive agreements to acquire a recently built state-of-the-art mega campus located in Sheikh Zayed city, west Cairo.

The sources added that the new campus will host a new branch of the EEP’s recently acquired Hayah International Academy, under the name ‘Hayah West’ and will mark Hayah’s first expansion in west Cairo. The new school will house more than 1,700 students.

The platform also executed in the fourth quarter of 2021 its first management agreement with the Sovereign Fund of Egypt and Mobica to manage and operate two new premium national schools that will be developed in Sixth of October City with a combined capacity of 5,000 students. The new schools are expected to start operations in September 2023.

The EEP is entering 2022 with a diversified portfolio comprising 10 schools across Cairo and Alexandria under various stages of development and with a combined capacity approaching 20,000 students.

The platform is continuing to explore potential growth opportunities in the market through future acquisitions or development of new schools and is planning to close at least two new investment deals in 2022.
