The second round of reconciliation talks between Egypt and Turkey was held in Ankara on 7-8 September, under the chairmanship of Ambassador Sedat Unal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, and Ambassador Hamdi Loza, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.

The two delegations discussed bilateral issues, as well as a number of regional issues, such as the situation in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

They agreed to continue those consultations and affirm their desire to achieve progress on the issues under discussion, and the need to take additional steps to facilitate the normalization of relations between the two sides.

The two sides did not issue any details about the three controversial files, which are the withdrawal of the Turkish presence from Libya, the cessation of unilateral movements in the eastern Mediterranean, the cessation of the Turkish support provided to the Brotherhood once and for all, and the extradition of the wanted persons to Cairo.

The first round of talks was held in Cairo last May, and dealt with bilateral and regional issues.
