Orascom Construction signed $1.1bn worth contracts in the second quarter (Q2) of 2021.
These new contracts mark an increase of 52% year-on-year (y-o-y), and bring the total new contracts in the first half (H1) of 2021 to $1.8bn.
The company’s operations in Egypt account for 32% of the Q2 projects, as the Group signed contracts across the water and industrial sectors. The US accounted for 68% of the company’s total operations during the quarter, due to sizable projects in the data centre sector. The company’s under-construction projects stood at $5.8bn as of 30 June 2021.
