Egypt, India discuss aspects of bilateral cooperation

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said has received India’s Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, El-Said reviewed a number of her ministry’s work files, whilst also referring to the features of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

She also made note of the country’s modernisation process that is being carried out within the vision to keep pace with global developments, as well as the features of the state’s investment plan.

The Minister reviewed a number of development projects that are being implemented, foremost of which is the “Decent Life” presidential initiative.

This is in addition to the work areas of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s agencies, which include: the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS); the Institute of National Planning (INP); and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD).

For his part, Ambassador Gupte referred to the historic Egyptian-Indian relations, and expressed his wish for the expansion of such relations.

He also stressed the success of the experience that Indian companies have had in Egypt, and expressed his aspiration that this experience will be repeated and expanded. He added that there are many opportunities for India to cooperate with Egypt in the health field.
