Egypt, Bahrain discuss latest developments in Palestine

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry has received a phone call from his Bahraini counterpart, Dr Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, to discuss the latest developments in Palestine.


The call comes as part of the continuous consultation and coordination between the two sides.

Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that during the call, the importance of continuing coordination between the two countries regarding developments in the Palestinian issue was emphasised. 

This includes the efforts related to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, with reference to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s announcement that Egypt has provided $500m as an Egyptian initiative. The financing has been earmarked for the benefit of the reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip.

During the telephone meeting, the two ministers was also stressed the importance of urgently encouraging the path of political settlement between the Palestinians and Israelis, and reviving the peace process.
