Zamalek SC will play, on Thursday, against El-Entag El-Harby, in a match that had been postponed from the 16th gameweek of the Egyptian Premier League.

The match is set to take place at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, without a public presence due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The White Knights enter today’s match as league leaders, on 33 points, while El-Entag El-Harby is in last place with 12 points.

In Thursday’s match, Zamalek seek to overcome its grief at losing 2-1 against arch-rivals and fellow Cairo team Al Ahly in their last match, and aim to do so by winning the next game’s three points. This is with a view to preserving the team’s hopes for the title this season. If Al Ahly win in all its three postponed matches, the difference between the teams will widen to six points.

Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron asked the team’s players to forget about the recent defeat against Al Ahly, and to not lose hope in the competition for the league title this season.

Carteron highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing team, after he watched footage of their recent matches and held sessions with the players. During these sessions, he explained the main strengths and weaknesses of the team, calling on the Zamalek players not to waste opportunities.

On the other hand, El-Entag El-Harby coach Hamada Sedky knows well the difficult situation of his team, which comes at the bottom of the league standings, as he hopes, through tonight’s meeting, to come out with any positive result, whether by achieving a surprise by winning over Zamalek, or coming out with a tie point at the very least.
