Reports in the UK have suggested that Egyptian and Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, is set to leave the English club by the end of the current football season, during the summer transfer window.

Reports indicated that Liverpool wanted to sign new high-level players next summer, confirming that several members of the team look set to leave. At the forefront of these departures, reports suggest that Salah is the closest to leaving.

Reports have also listed the reasons that are pushing the Egyptian star to leave the Reds, perhaps the most prominent of which is his anger for not being named captain in the team’s match against FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League.

Salah has also expressed his desire to take on new challenges after his overwhelming success with the Reds.

Liverpool may also use the big cash from selling Salah to sign new stars, such as the French Kylian Mbappe, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain.

An English newspaper has also said that Salah’s departure from Liverpool and the English Premier League may be partly fuelled by statements from Bayern Munich President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The renowned German former player has said: “It will be an honour for me to sign Salah,” and called him the “Messi of Africa”.

The newspaper also talked about allegations before Christmas that Salah is unhappy in Merseyside amidst growing interests from Spain’s Real Madrid and Barcelona.
