Al-Sisi directs for national construction industry promotion

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed for intensifying the government’s support to different national industries, especially the construction sector.

The Egyptian President met, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla, and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea.

Al-Sisi said that Egypt’s comprehensive development plan provides great opportunities for construction companies of all kinds, such as the national project to develop the countryside which targets 1,000 villages nationwide.

Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that Al-Sisi reviewed the measures taken by the government to resolve the challenges facing some industries, especially steel, cement, and ceramics.

The President also stressed the need for encouraging local construction companies to expand regionally, and increase Egyptian construction product imports to neighbouring countries.

Rady added that the meeting also tackled the most prominent challenges facing the heavy industries in Egypt, in addition to a number of proposed measures to overcome these challenges.

During the meeting, Al-Sisi also reviewed the government efforts to deepen local industrialisation, as well as strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian industrial exports.

He also directed for maximising the local high-quality raw materials and production capacities to meet local needs.
