Tourism Minister, Danish Ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation in tourism, archaeology

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani met with Denmark’s Ambassador to Egypt Svend Olling, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in archaeology and tourism.

Al-Anani began the meeting by welcoming the ambassador to Cairo, and expressed his wishes for Olling’s success during his tenure in his new position. The minister also expressed his hopes that the two countries will witness further cooperation in the future.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Denmark, particularly related to the field of archaeology. This aims to increase cooperation in terms of archaeological work, and training archaeologists and conservationists.

The meeting also saw discussions on attracting more tourist traffic from Denmark to Egypt, and a proposal to hold temporary exhibitions in both countries.

For his part, Olling congratulated Al-Anani on the recent announcement of new discoveries at the world renowned Saqqara archaeological area, which the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities made in early October.
