Mashreq Bank Egypt appoints Haitham Hammad as Executive VP

Mashreq Bank has appointed Haitham Hammad as the Executive Vice President of its Egypt unit. Hammad will be responsible for several aspects of the bank’s services, including: management of private teams; retail banking services; digital services; local branch network; and marketing and communications.

Hammad will also be responsible for managing standard customer experience and quality management, in addition to direct sales teams.

The new Executive VP holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Cairo University’s College of Economics and Political Science. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Maastricht College of Administrative Sciences in the Netherlands.

Hammad has extensive banking management experience spanning over 25 years in retail banking, marketing, digital financial services, and private banking services.

Mashreq Bank Egypt’s new Executive VP has previously worked for a range of financial institutions, through which he has managed retail banking and marketing development teams in the UAE, Singapore, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.

Hammad has most recently worked as the head of saib Bank’s retail banking sector, where he was responsible for launching all digital products and services for individual customers.

Prior to that, he was the senior head of marketing and business development for the retail banking group and branches at the Commercial International Bank (CIB) – Egypt.

Previously, Hammad has also held the position of regional head of marketing and business development for North Africa and the Levant at HSBC Middle East.
