The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has organized its annual celebration to honour the “Best Team” in the bank during 2022.

Hassan Ghanem, Chairperson and Managing Director of HDB, honoured both the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) finance department and the corporate and syndicated loans department, in appreciation of their achievements in 2022.

He stressed that the SME finance department achieved the objective of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) in this field by directing 25% of the bank’s credit portfolio to SMEs at a value of EGP 4.850bn.

The corporate and syndicated loans department also achieved the highest growth rate and ranked first among the banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange, with a growth rate of 33.7% and the total value of the portfolio amounted to EGP 14bn. The bank’s syndicated loan portfolio increased 44.8% to EGP 1.9bn in September 2022.

Ghanem also honoured Tamer Negm, Assistant Managing Director for Institutions, Treasury, and Investment; Sherif El-Maghraby, Head of the Small and Medium Enterprises Department; and Mohamed Gamal, Head of the Corporate and Syndicated Loans Department.
