The Voice of Egypt launched the second season of ‘Narrative Summit – Reshaping Norms’, broadcasting the second part of a dialogue with Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said.

During the dialogue, El-Said addressed the measures taken by Egypt during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, and future plans in development.

The Voice of Egypt summit began in mid-April by hosting a group of experts and officials via its social media platforms. The experts discussed the impact of the crisis in creating a new reality, and forcing a global shift to creating a different future.

Lamia Kamel, founder of the Voice of Egypt summit, said that its first season managed to achieve great success, reaching 1.2 million views, and garnering 400,000 followers. Viewers could access the programme via social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter.

Kamel added that the Voice of Egypt Summit began in 2016 as a volunteer initiative by CC Plus for Public Relations and Media Consultation.

Over the next four sessions, and an exceptional summit in 2019 under the name “Awakening of Minds”, they have succeeded in creating a platform promoting the Egyptian identity. They have also found success in displaying models and experiences of achievement from within the country.

This has come about by bringing together government officials, private entrepreneurs and international experts in various disciplines.

The Voice of Egypt – Change the Realities dialogues began by hosting Mahmoud Mohieldin, the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy for Sustainable Development. He spoke on the coronavirus and its impact on the economy and development priorities in the future.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, Chairperson of eFinance Ibrahim Sarhan, and former Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy are just a few of the names expected to take part in the second season.
