Covid-19 death toll in Egypt reaches 159 with 13 new fatalities

Total Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Egypt has increased by 126 new cases to reach 2065 infections on Sunday, according to a statement from the Health Ministry. Whilst, death toll has also increased by 13 new fatalities reaching 159 deaths.

The ministry said that 447 cases have recovered and discharged from hospitals after receiving the required medical treatment according to the Egyptian protocol.

The new infections included a foreign citizen and 125 Egyptian nationals.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Hala hold a meeting via videoconference, with healthcare workers from 6 of the hospitals allocated for isolating Covid-19 patients. These hospitals included: Nigaila, Baltim, Kafr Al-Zayat, Temai Al-Amdid, Malawi, and Qaha. 

Zayed stressed the necessity of providing all the needed tools and personal protective equipment in hospitals to ensure safety of healthcare workers.
