Banque du Caire has closed down its headquarters in Nasr City following an employee testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The closure comes as part of the bank’s precautionary measures to counter the spread of the coronavirus.

Tarek Fayed, Chairman and CEO of Banque du Caire, stressed that this measure comes in the framework of the bank’s steps towards employee and customer health and safety. It noted that the bank has taken a number of precautionary measures, and works in accordance with alternative plans that have been put in place to deal with this type of crisis.

Fayed added that full sterilisation operations are currently being implemented for the main headquarters’ offices and departments. A medical examination will be performed on all workers who were in contact with the positive case, and samples will be taken with the recommendation of social isolation.

Fayed added that executive measures were taken, and work continuity plans were activated, taking into account the exceptional circumstances. These include alternative locations for all departments working on the same floor where the positive case was working.

Banque du Caire thanked all its work teams that implemented the business continuity plan to ensure that business continues as usual. It also praised its teams’ continuing efforts to implement all of the bank’s services to support customers and Egypt’s economy.
