A man has been shot dead by police in a “terror-related incident” on Streatham street in London, on Sunday. The Metropolitan Police has said it is believed that a number of people have been stabbed in broad daylight and the incident has been declared as terrorist-related.
“We believe there are two injured victims. We await updates on their conditions,” police added in a later statement.
London was the scene of a similar terrorist attack in November 2019, when a radicalized man was shot dead by the police after he killed two people near London Bridge.
Pictures circulated on social media showing a man lying on the ground wearing what appears to be a suicide bomb vest. Also, a video that circulated on Twitter showed what appeared to be two undercover officers drawing their weapons as they took cover behind a police car.
