Youth Ministry considers launching sports university, race track in Sixth of October

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is considering the establishment of a sports university and motor race track in partnership with the private sector, under the usufruct system, within the Sports City project in the Sixth of October city.

A government source told Daily News Egypt that the project will also include a covered lounge, a training and leisure swimming pool complex, a water park, a commercial area, restaurants, an outdoor playground complex, a squash complex, a bowling alley, a ski resort, a hotel, and a fitness complex.

It will also have a running track, cycling track, social spaces, green spaces, a number of car parks, a sports medicine unit, a cinema complex, a cinema for cars, a business and financial services area, an open theatre for concerts and festivals, a pool hall for billiards and table tennis and arcade games, conference rooms, and wedding halls.

The source pointed out that Egyptian, UAE, and Kuwaiti investors, as well as German investors, inspected the project’s site, and discussed with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, the necessary measures to start the project.

The area allocated for the project is 70 feddan with a market value of EGP 1.42bn.
