Mohamed Fadl, director of AFCON, hosted by Egypt until July 19, said Egypt is considering thorough details in terms of organising the entire event.

“When we targeted organising the championship, we worked a lot with the help of the state. We were seeking perfection,” Fadl said at a Cairo press conference.

“The championship is not just another football event, but rather a reflection of our country abroad,” he said. “There may be disadvantages that we are trying to avoid, and we strive for perfection in everything,” Fadl added.

“We have tried facilitating granting visas to the fans. It has become very easy for new fans to come to the tournament, and we are working to make it easy to get tickets for matches, as well as take into consideration all additional requests,” Fadl shared.

He said that there is keenness to provide everything, which is a positive burden on the countries that will host the tournament in the future, and the goal is to have Africans start talking about what they saw in Egypt.

Fadl explained that by the end of the tournament there will be a full declaration of everything about the tournament and about match attendance by fans from abroad. There is a large audience from Algeria, and no restrictions on fans. There is also keenness on solving all issues that occur.

Fadl noted that Egypt is ready for the championship and provides security for all fans so that they can cheer in peace.
