A woman died at a private hospital in Zagazig city in Sharqia governorate was among the survivors of the incident of Deyerb Negm Central Hospital, rising the number of deaths because of the incident to four, local media reported on Sunday.

Two weeks ago, three kidney failure patients died and 13 others were injured during a medical session in Deyerb Negm Central Hospital in Sharqia governorate. The woman was receiving medical care in a private hospital in Zagazig after the incident.

Governor of Sharqia Mamdouh Ghorab referred the incident to the prosecution to investigate the incident and determine who is responsible.

Last week, the Minister of Health Hala Zayed said during a session in parliament’s health committee that the death incident of three kidney failure patients in Deyerb Negm Central Hospital is unjustified and is a big negligence.

Zayed added that who is responsible for the incident in Deyerb Negm Central Hospital will be charged, explaining that her ministry is working 24 hours per day and she herself has moved to the hospital to check the case of the patients and take the needed measures. The minister explained that what had happened is a catastrophe, but without the intervention of the internal medicine doctors in the hospital who saved the patients, the incident would have been bigger.

She did not reveal the reasons of the incident before the end of the investigations, saying that there are three deaths among 35 patients, who were in the unit at the time of the incident, adding that determining the reason of death is the responsibility of forensic medicine.
