Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry will head to Riyadh on Monday to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers supporting the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, scheduled to address ways to support and coordinate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Yemen.

The meeting reflects the “commitment of the coalition to respond quickly to the humanitarian needs of the brotherly people of Yemen, as well as Egypt’s keenness to support fellow Yemenis in the difficult circumstances they are going through,” according to statement released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid.

Abu Zeid stressed that Egypt stands with the Yemeni people, delivering humanitarian aid and supports the legitimate government in retaking control of the entire Yemeni territory.

Egypt has already provided humanitarian aid to Yemen, delivered through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in Riyadh, and is currently preparing a new package of medical and food aid. In addition, support is being given by the Egyptian government to the Yemeni community in Egypt to alleviate their suffering, the statement concluded.
