Shoukry asserts support to Palestinian cause, will meet British FM

Egyptian Minister of Foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry went to Rome Saturday to participate in the international conference that will discuss the Libyan crisis. The conference will be held on a ministerial level. Italy and the US called for it to force Libyan parties to establish a national unity government to overcome Libya’s current crisis.

Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Saeb Erekat confirmed on Thursday, during his meeting with  Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry, the importance of Egypt’s role in supporting the Palestinian case, .

Erekat briefed Shoukry on the latest Palestinian diplomatic activities. Shoukry on the other hand asserted Egypt’s support to the Palestinian cause.

The two diplomats also discussed the upcoming Arab League summit which will take place in Jordan next month.

Shoukry is expected to travel to the US to meet with US-American officials. Also, according to MENA news agency, he is expected to meet with British foreign minster Boris Johnson in his first visit to the United Kingdom.
