The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology put forward a tender to install and operate an internal network hub and hardware systems for the Ministry of Justice. The ministry scheduled the information session for Wednesday, while 19 May is set for submitting offers.

This comes as part of the ministry’s plan to spread modern technology across all state bodies and automate the services they provide, including the development of infrastructure and implementation of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The tender brochure limited the offers to companies working in supplying telecommunications networks with prior experience in implementing similar projects in the Egyptian market with a minimum of three projects. The tender will be held through the technical and financial two-envelope system. Evaluation of the technical envelope will be through a point system.

The assessment of offers will follow several items and a maximum percentage of points will be awarded as follows: 50% for the technical specifications of the devices and units, 20% for prior experience with government projects in the Egyptian market, and 5% for the clarity and organisation of the offer.

Moreover, 25% will be awarded for the quality of hardware included in the offer based on international standards. Acceptance of the offer depends on being awarded at least 75% of the points.

The Ministry of Communications has a plan for cooperation with a number of institutions and government ministries led by the Ministry of Justice aiming to deploy technology and automate government services.

The Ministry of Communications issued a qualifying tender for automating the notary and real estate registry offices of the Ministry of Justice in partnership with the private sector through the PPP system. Four local and foreign alliances qualified and one of them was chosen to implement the project
